NAVODAYA EXAMINATION PATTERN

 

Navoday Vidyalay entrance test has one combined question paper for 100 marks it has two hours for test

Navoday Vidyalay selection will be of 2 hours. Test will have 360 with only objective type questions there are 80 questions in all carrying a total of 100 marks.

 

SECTION ONE

MENTAL ABILITY TEST

               This is a non verbal test questions are based on figures and diagrams only this section is divided into 10 parts having four questions each there are total 40 questions on mental test there are different instruction for his part the questions are mean to access the general mental capabilities of the candidate

QUESTION TYPES

In question paper 40 questions in the form of figures are asked every question carries one and one fourth marks this section has total 50 marks

Each question contains a question figure or a set of question figure set of 4 figures is also given students need to find out correct answer figure

The answer figures are represented by the letters A,B,C and D in the OMR answer sheet. students have to darken the circle of the letter corresponding to the correct answer figure.

Mental ability test question paper contains 10 types of questions from part 1 to part 10 as given below

• analogy

• geometrical figure completion

• mirror imaging

• folding unfolding

• space visualisation

• embedded figure

SECTION : 2

ARITHMETIC

The main purpose of the taste East to assess the candidate basic competencies in Arithmetic Emphasis will be more on this testing of understanding and application of the concepts and skills.

This test has 20 questions for 25 mark

Question Types

Arithmetic question paper has 20 questions on mathematics carrying 25 marks

The students are expected to wear rough work in the space for it in the answer paper

For every question for probable answers are provided out of which only one is correct students are expected to find out the correct answer and Dhadkan the circle in the OMR answer sheet against the letter corresponding to that answer

International digits are to be used in all the places

Out of two hours allotted for the entire paper that is the three sections the students should try to complete the mathematician within 30 minutes

Questions in Arithmetic section are based on the following 15 topics

• Number and numeric system

• Aur fundamental operations on whole number

• Fractional numbers and four fundamental operations on them

• Factors multiples and their properties

• LCM and HCF of the numbers

• Decimals and fundamental operations on them

• Conversion of fractions to decimals and vice versa

• Measurement of length, mass, capacity, time money etc

• Distance time and speed

• Approximation of expression

• Simplification of numerical expression

• Percentage and its applications

• Profit and loss

• Simple interest

• Perimeter area and volume

SECTION 3 : LANGUAGE

The main purpose of language test is to assess reading comprehension skills of the candidates. The test consists of four passages. Each passage is followed by five questions. Candidates are required to read this passage carefully and then attempt the questions that follow.

QUESTION TYPE IN LANGUAGE SECTION

In the language section of Jawahar navoday Vidyalay entrance test consists of questions 61 to 80

There will be 20 questions for 50 marks

Four passages are given for 25 March is passage having five questions each
